Co-Chairs’ Message
WELCOME
Climbing the paths in Vermont’s green mountains, the rustling winds surround us as the hills really do come alive with the sounds of camaraderie and purpose as we school business officials come together from our three home states to begin what is now our 16th annual Tri-State ASBO conference.
We come-of-age in this “Sweet Sixteen” year of ours as we are yet again provided with a strong collection of offerings in professional development. The seeds planted at that first conference on the shores of Lake Morey, blossom still as we continue our climb of self-improvement.
The history of the Green Mountain State dates back some 16,000 years. Shaped by glaciers, native peoples, the French and Indian Wars, the American Revolution and the Civil War, Vermont’s rich cultural heritage is a product of the thoughts and actions of scholars, writers, religious leaders, politicians, intellectuals, and just plain folk who have risen together over the years by helping to build the very foundation of what we possess today.
Be it 16 years or 16,000, each event, each experience, each step built upon the last, allows a new level to be reached. It is not lost on us that triumph is just a little “umph” added to “try”. And “try” we do as your Tri-State committee welcomes you to join us this year on our continued path, as we build on our past to reach “new heights” in our future.
